Welcome to 2021

Men’s Shed Activity:
Thank you to all members and social members for your continued interest and support for the Shed throughout 2020 and into 2021, very much appreciated.

Committee of Management Meeting: from 8:30 on Thursday 4th February at the Hangar.

1st Member Catchup: from 9:45 on Thursday 4th February at the Hangar.

For both meetings: COVID-19 restrictions are still in place. Given that we normally have 20 – 30 members at Thursday meetings our 40 person limit should be OK. Would suggest that members should be reminded of the following;

  • Check in using the QR code,
  • Observe social distancing I.e. chairs will be arranged 1.5 metres apart.
  • Wear masks while indoors.
  • Use hand sanitiser.
Stringer Reserve: Building permit has been issued by the building surveyor. Melbourne Garages engaged as the builder. The site prep has begun !!!!

Kitchen Update:  The new cabinets and appliances are installed. We have a “working” kitchen with oven, dishwasher and double sink. James and Derek have delivered our mobile bench with a seriously good timber top.

Music Appreciation:  The group interested in all things music, playing and listening. They even managed to use Zoom through the lockdown for practice sessions.

Car Club: We managed several trips in 2020 and now looking for regular meetings in 2021.
500 Card Club: Trickster 500 kept the card nights going through the lockdown. It looks like sessions will be happening back at the Hangar, on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings in 2021.
Help a Mate: your opportunity to get some help on those “difficult” projects. This has proven to be a great help to a few members so take advantage of the restrictions being lifted and get those requests in.
Projects: Stressing that all Projects must come through the committee. Proper assessment should be done before any work is agreed to be done. A few activities could be seen as “Help-a-mate” items and should be recorded with John Peters.
OutReach projects must go through the Projects Committee and apply the procedures developed in the Off-Site Projects and Activities – 2020 document. PNMS_Off_Site_Project_Policy_2020.01.pdf
Billy Karts Grand Prix 2021: With the very strict COVID_Safe restrictions put in place by the State Government covering outside gatherings, we have decided to postpone this event. The event would become very difficult to manage and would certainly reduce the level of fun we had in the previous 2 years.
