Christmas Function at the Hangar
An amazing turnout for a fun evening. Thank you Rob Koller for organising another great night for all of us. Plenty of food, beverages, and music to enjoy. The Hangar looked great and very festive.
Awards were handed to David Bevens (“Shedder of the Year”) and Greg Wilkinson
for their massive contributions throughout the year.
Special mention was given to Rob Koller who has stood down as Secretary after 4/5 years of fabulous efforts and commitment. He was handed a copy of “Dear Mr. Secretary, Take a Walk with Me”
as a record of the activities/projects, he has seen during those years.
“The Tuesday Crew”:
Thank you to the “Tuesday Crew” for the time you have given to various projects over the year.
There have been some real successes, including Park Benches and the Buddy Benches.
Looking forward to more activities once we restart in 2023.
“Buddy Benches”:
Thank you to the “Tuesday Crew” who ignored the summer rain and installed the 3 benches at St Joseph’s and coming back to add the last undercoat.
. They do look good and inviting student decoration!!
The plan is to install the other 3 at Sorrento Primary and Sorrento Kinder
during the Christmas Break.
We will be looking at a morning in early January.
Music Group “Take 3”:
The music group had an enjoyable Christmas dinner at the Hanger with a night centered around Take 3.
Each member brought along 3 of their favourite songs to be played and discussed.
This format was taken from the Take 5 series on the ABC.
It was extraordinarily difficult to narrow it down to three songs
and there were quite a few surprises in the song choices.
Most interesting was the back story behind the songs
and from this we all learnt much more about our friends and fellow musician.
It was a lovely experience.

“Conversations about Suicide” Support (Anna Ross, Uni of Melb):
Thank you for being a part of our project to deliver Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) training in Men’s Sheds across Australia. We greatly value your involvement and appreciate your contributions to the project throughout the year.
This year, two sheds completed the Conversations about Suicide course and their participation in the project. A big thank you to our wonderful coordinators at the Pomonal Men’s Shed (VIC) and Point Nepean Men’s Shed (VIC) for your tireless efforts in leading your shed’s involvement in the project.
