2021 Bushfire Fauna Recovery Project

The Men’s Shed was awarded a grant from the Federal Government to supply Nesting Boxes to the bushfire-impacted areas in Gippsland.  The Shed has partnered with Birdlife Australia on what should be the design of the boxes to meet the local requirements.

David and Gilly at Studio57F1 were approached to create the kits. The members were engaged at the Men’s Shed to assemble and paint the boxes.

Our friends at Bunnings Rosebud have joined us with a massive donation of all the paint required. That was a great help as the timber was very thirsty. They look good in Dulux “Candle Bark”.

The Men’s Shed has been asked to deliver finished items. Birdlife Australia has an association with a local agency to deliver to recovery sites in the Gippsland area.

Delivery to Kalimna West – Gunaikurnai Land & Waters Aboriginal Corp. Head Office – (GLaWAC) halfway between Bairnsdale & Lakes Entrance.

The following “thank you” letter was sent to the Shed. We supplied a few more pics and comments and awaiting to see any more official media releases.
