2022 and 2023 Buddy Bench Expansion
With the availability of a $2,500 grant from the Mornington Peninsula Shire, the PNMSA started discussions with the teachers at St Joseph’s Sorrento, Sorrento Primary School and Sorrento PreSchool on providing additional benches.
A total of 6 benches have been made and installed at the schools between November 2022 and January 2023 .

The PNMSA was asked by the teachers at St Joseph’s Sorrento
“Can the Men’s Shed could construct a larger, more robust ‘Buddy Bench’ as the existing one doesn’t hold many students and we need a larger area for this?”
We noted that the original bench was also vandalised in the Easter holidays.
“Yes We Can” was the reply.
The “Tuesday crew” set about sourcing the timber and paint and produced 2 pretty good benches.
