Crisis Housing Presentation:
Nikki from Bayview Care provided a very informative presentation.
This looks to be a project a number of organisations are seriously looking to support. Between us, we have an array of skills that could well add value to the program. Our involvement would be more supportive and not managerial.
On Wednesday, Jim Rennie and Graham Goudie attended a meeting at the MPSC Rosebud office.
The meeting was called by Chris Brayne, MP, and other attendees included Cr Sarah Race and Council officer Chris Munro. We presented the rationale for supporting one of the respondents to the EoI issued by the MPSC and what our PNMS can bring to a successful applicant. Naturally, no specific details about applicants could be discussed as the process is underway.
We learned the MPSC is likely to make their decision on the EoI around mid-year.
We also understand significant State government funding to support such a project is highly likely.
It was agreed this group would reconvene once the MPSC has made the decision on which, if any, applicants are successful. It is fair to say our Men’s Shed enjoys a high reputation for our advocacy and support in this important social matter.
Proposed Men’s Shed Garage Sale:
Stringer Reserve, Saturday 7th May 8:00 am to Midday
Time to clear some of the excess at the Reserve. We are planning to have a few tables laid out and sell off the excess tools at Stringer Reserve.
It’s also a chance for any member to also bring their own table and sell off items of their own, and perhaps donate some of the proceeds to the Men’s Shed.
VMSA Newsletter: We were asked this week to write a short article on the “Mobile Workshop”, the history and current status. Check out Page 23 of the attached:-
